Our family art night!

Thinking about what to do as a family night with the kiddos? Any ideas on what to do to keep the family entertained? Then maybe you my friend are in the same boat I was in other day.

I want to let you know what we did as family night with paint. Yeah, paint! Let me tell ya, it did get messy.

  • Trash bags – We used the trash bags to put over the table, it will get messy.
  • Paint and paint brush
  • Construction paper or a canvas what ever you prefer
  •  Napkins and a cup of water to clean your brush to switch over paint color and BAMM you got yourself our kind of family paint night!

Have you gotten so side tract that you lose track of time? Well that’s what happened to us. As we sat there together as family painting we lost track of time. Enjoying each others company with family music in the back ground.

He got so messy it went from painting on the canvas to painting all over the trash bag that I had over the table and by the end of the night it was all over him!

Let me tell you after everything got cleaned up and put away took my son to the tub scrubbed him clean and I crowned myself and gave myself a relaxing bath.

Enjoy  your family painting as much as I did!

  1. Best idea on the face of the planet!! I cannot WAIT until my girls are old enough to have as much fun with paints as I do!! I’m buying SO MANY canvases and paints for them for their birthday (end of January)!

  2. What a fabulous idea! I have been known to spread trashbags on the floor, strip my kids down to art smocks, get out newsprint and finger paints, and let them go at it, but now that they’re a little older, we may have to graduate to this more “civilized” sounding family art tradition 🙂

  3. Looks like a ton of fun! My daughter and I are working on a craft tonight, maybe I will let little man paint with us. I always dread the mess, but it is so worth it!
