How to throw a 2nd Birthday Party at a park!

Lets party!! Click To Tweet

Planning a birthday party during the summer can get hectic especially during June. Rainy Month. I began wrecking my brains out on what should be done, inside or outdoors. Planning a party for a big family is not easy. We have a rather large extended family and many friends with multiples. So our guest list was a decent one, but too large for our home to accommodate. At the same time, I didn’t want to spend money on renting a venue. I also did not want to haul the kids somewhere with their needed gear. Together my husband and I planned our son a birthday party at a park with a near by pavilion and a pond.

Here is what you’ll need.

  • Theme (decorations)
  • Place
  • Time
  • Events (little games with winning prices)
  • Food/Drinks/Snacks

Place:

Here is the park with a pavilion and ponds (fishing ponds) in the back.

Time:

12-4pm. Reason why we did this time, it was supposed to rain all day that day. We still decided to keep this party going. Rain or Shine! Short and simple.

Theme:

Hulk, Iron-Man, Spider-Man, Captain America and Bat-Man.

We gave our son the options of his favorite things he chose Spider-Man. I went above and decided to do all of his favorite Superheroes. I made these pots for the centerpieces of the table.

Here are the table covers. Each Table will have two table cover.

Black and Yellow – Bat-Man

Gold and Red – Iron-Man

Black and Red – Spider-Man

Red and Blue – Captain America

And Birthday plates and Banner. Strings deco. Balloons, Noise makers, etc. anything that you feel that will make the party going.

As you can tell my son was out of it. We were working on this party day and night!

Make a Birthday frame, let everyone take pictures with everyone this frame was a blast!

Get a thick poster board, any color of your theme choice. Cut out the middle part to make it look like a frame. Get letters and pictures of your theme. You can spell out anything you want from “Happy 5th birthday James” to “Happy 5th Bday James”. What ever you think is best and will fit on your frame.
